ROCK OF AGES PERFORM WHITESNAKE SONG
The 80’s saw the emergence of pop and dance music. Rock music was very popular during that decade and the local radio stations played the popular music of groups like Bon Jovi, Journey, Styx, Poison, Whitesnake and many other bands. The musical ‘Rock of Ages’ pays homage to the era of rock ‘n’ roll and makes a glorious return of the 80’s music.
The ‘Rock of Ages’ a show presented by the center of performing arts would be held at 7:30 p.m in 25th January at Eisenhower Auditorium.
The ‘Rock of Ages’ features 28 songs with hits like Foreigner’s ‘Waiting for a girl like you’, Journey’s ‘Don’t stop believing’, Jefferson Starship’s ‘We built this city’ and ‘Here I Go Again’ by Whitesnake.
The musical’s book tells a story about a small town girl and a big city rocker boy who meets at a renowned rock club in Los Angeles and falls in love. Their story gets complicated when a German entrepreneur decides to renovate the club.
Matt Nolan stars as the hard-rocker Stacee Jaxx in the musical production. He started his career over a TV program on NBC “Grease: You’re the one that I want”.
Nolan expresses his excitement in having landed the role of Stacee Jaxx and stated that he was one of the last Dannies left and had spent the entire of 2011 in playing Danny Zucco doing a national tour of ‘Grease’.
He admitted that he was thrilled to play the role and that it is every guy’s fantasy to play a larger-than-life rocker, getting to sing the song of some of the best bands, to wear the best costumes created and to have girls fall all over. Nolan was also a singer in a rock band apart from being an actor. He is convinced that the ‘Rock of Ages’ show would appeal to the college crowd.
